To Dr. Shaer & Deb: I was in a few weeks ago with my entourage of 3 children and my newborn who was having trouble latching properly. I was in so much pain and she wasn't gaining weight…. I am pain free for the first time ever. I want to thank you both so much for that!!!! Thank you so much. Valerie, Wading River.
Jeanne Rosser is the reason I am still breastfeeding my son. The only regret I have is not finding her sooner than I did. After seeing five other lactation consultants and breastfeeding counselors, not one of them could help us. My supply was dwindling and my baby was losing weight. And I had no answers, until I found Jeanne. She sat and talked with me, encouraged me, even cried with me. She gave me practical advice none of the others ever mentioned. Most importantly, she suggested I get tested for a thyroid condition, something I did not have a history of, but she was determined to find the reason for my low supply and my baby's weight loss. The next day, I was tested and it turned out Jeanne was right. I had an undiagnosed thyroid condition that was greatly affecting my milk supply. With Jeanne's suggestions and support and proper medical treatment, I was able to recover my supply and continue nursing my then five-month old. I am proud to say I am still nursing my son today. He will be two years old in June. I cannot express the sincere gratitude I have for Jeanne's guidance. From my son's weekly weigh-ins to her unwavering support via phone, text, and email, Jeanne is the reason our nursing relationship has thrived. Today, I look at my son and think about what might have never been had it not been for Jeanne, and every time we celebrate another breastfeeding milestone, I am sure to send Jeanne a little note of thanks. Jeanne is awesome! She helped me through a bunch of problems when breastfeeding, especially when my daughter had jaundice and the pediatrician wanted me to stop breastfeeding. She definitely was our angel! Karen, Merrick
Jeanne is warm, caring and professional. She has all the tools and up-to-date information to help mothers and babies succeed in their Breastfeeding relationship. Chana , New York
After having nursed my first two sons, i went into nursing my third son thinking i had all the answers (or most of them anyway). i was new but successful for 11 months with my first, however only successful for only 2 months with my 2nd, so i was determined to be more successful with my 3rd. Well, life happens and each baby is completely different!! 3rd baby, full time job and 2 other children at home lead me down an exhausted and stressful path. I reached out to Susan for some guidance. She gave me maybe the BEST advice I had ever gotten as a breast feeding mother. I was able to increase my supply for him for the next feeding as well as helping me build my supply in the freezer for my return to work. I'm 3 months in, back at work and still going strong. Susan clearly loves what she does. she was totally there for this "new" mom. just goes to show you that when you love what you do, it shows! Thank you Susan!-DIane
If I had not made a phone call to Sue on “day 3” after my son was born I truly do not think I would have been able to stick with breastfeeding. I was a first-time mom, and never had the opportunity to see a Lactation Consultant in the hospital. I was confused, scared and really upset, and the kicker was that when I called our pediatrician in tears because my son was crying non-stop, the covering doctor said to me, “Your baby is starving…you need to give him formula.” When I called Sue, she was calm, reassuring and extremely patient. She listened to me through my tears for almost an hour, and the best advice she gave to me (which I will never forget) was, “I don’t care if you need to nurse your baby upside down…just keep on nursing him.” Well that was exactly what I needed to hear, and that is just what I did. Her advice allowed me to relax and to understand that everything was going to be alright. Sue is not only professional and knowledgeable…she is a fantastic mommy and has real life breastfeeding experience to share. My son was over 10 pounds when he was born. We exclusively breastfed until 6 months when we introduced solids and he just turned three and he is still nursing. Sue was such a big part of our breastfeeding success and helped me to give my son the best possible start in life!! I will forever be grateful for her support and understanding. - Karyn
Jeanne helped guide me through the entire birthing process. This started with advice during pregnancy, guidance with delivery, and much time and effort during the initial stages of breastfeeding. She was always available when I had follow-up questions and her advice and guidance was always spot on. I am really not sure what I would have without Jeanne. Thank you! Amy, Amityville
