If you aren't sure whether the medication you need to take is compatible with breastfeeding, make sure to contact your healthcare provider. If your doctor does not have access to medications & breastfeeding information, it is completely acceptable for you to share information. Of course, it needs to be from a medically-based resource, not your friend or the woman at work who took that medicine when she was nursing.
Rarely does breastfeeding need to be interrupted because mom is sick or needs routine medical care. So get your teeth cleaned, book that colonoscopy appointment & keep nursing your little one.
